Safety Programs

At ESS, the health and safety of people is our top priority. The execution of services with high quality standards comes from our unwavering dedication to safety. The ESS safety philosophy holds our employees as the most valued asset and their safety is an integral part of the ESS culture.

We design comprehensive action plans for workplace safety that are implemented across all facilities under service contract with ESS.  Our on-site management team implements these safety programs to meet the goals of reducing employee turnover rate, preventing workplace accidents, and applying best practices for handling chemicals and equipment.

ESS is proud to be recognized annually by Building Service Contractors Association International for Outstanding Overall Record in Employee and Vehicle Safety. We rely on the following measures to keep our employees and customers safe at their facility:

Inspections and Checklists – ESS supervisors conduct monthly site inspections. Safety Inspection Checklists are used to identify, record, and resolve potential hazards for our employees and customers.

Training and Supervision – ESS offers detailed orientation training to new employees and continuous, sustained job training for those already working on-site. Our goal is to ensure ESS employees and customer’s employees are safe from workplace injuries and health hazards.

OSHA Quick Card Program – Environmental Service Systems also maintains an OSHA Quick Card Program with pictograms on labels to alert users of the chemical hazards to which they may be exposed.

Drug and Alcohol Policy – Drugs and alcohol abuse tests are mandatory for employment at ESS. These medical examinations are conducted during the course of their employment because ESS has a no tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use and abuse at workplace, during training and meetings, on company property, and during meal or rest breaks.
